About ExeDepot

ExeDepot is a catalog of free software for Windows. Each page explains what a program does, who it suits, what its license allows and where its limits are, then links to the download on the developer's official site.

What we publish

• Free programs first. Most reviews cover open source or freeware that you can use without a trial period. We also review widely used shareware and trial software; those reviews are marked "Trial" and state the price and what stops working when the trial ends. The exact license is shown on each review.
• Official sources only. We do not host, mirror or repackage installers, and we do not wrap downloads in our own installer.
• Limits as well as strengths. Every review lists who should look elsewhere and what the program cannot do.

What we do not do

We do not publish fake ratings, invented download counts or "virus-free" badges. A star score labeled ExeDepot is our own, from installing the program. A score labeled Microsoft Store is the store's user rating, copied with its rating count and linked to that listing. If a review has a date, it is the day we last checked the official download page. Read how we check links.
