Our verdict: Fender Studio Pro is the continuation of PreSonus Studio One, known for its fast drag-and-drop workflow and a dedicated mastering page. Version 8 adds Fender guitar and bass amp models and stem separation. The demo is 30 days, and a perpetual license costs $199.99 with one year of feature updates.
About Fender Studio Pro (Studio One)
In January 2026 Fender renamed Studio One Pro to Fender Studio Pro, starting with version 8, and moved the PreSonus software and interfaces under its Fender Studio brand. Studio One Pro 7 licenses can be upgraded. The app is still built on the Studio One platform, so the workflow and project files carry over.
A perpetual license costs $199.99 and includes 12 months of new feature releases that you keep afterwards; a Pro+ subscription is also offered. The demo lasts 30 days and is downloaded through a free My Fender account; after it ends you need a license to keep using the program.
What it does well
- Drag-and-drop workflow. Drop instruments, effects, loops and files straight onto tracks and events.
- Mastering and Show pages. Finish albums on a dedicated mastering page and run backing tracks for live shows.
- Fender amp models. Mustang guitar and Rumble bass amp and pedal plug-ins are built in.
- Stem separation. Splits a mixed track into vocals, drums, bass and other parts, and converts audio to notes.
- Chord Assistant. Suggests next chords and helps with harmony while you write.
