Our verdict: EdrawMind, the renamed MindMaster, is a polished mind mapper with 22 layouts, an outliner, slideshow mode, Gantt view and AI map generation. The free version is a demo more than a tool: 100 topics per map, two sheets per file and watermarked image and PDF exports, so regular users will need a subscription or the perpetual license.
About EdrawMind (MindMaster)
EdrawMind is Wondershare's mind mapping and visual thinking app, sold for years as MindMaster; the old MindMaster download page now serves EdrawMind. It builds mind maps, org charts, fishbone diagrams, timelines and other layouts, and the same content can be shown as an outline, a slideshow or a Gantt chart. AI features generate maps from a prompt and summarize documents, web pages and YouTube videos using tokens, and maps sync through Wondershare cloud storage.
The free version never expires but is tightly limited: 100 topics per map, 7 themes, 5 inserted pictures, 2 sheets per file, 3 notes, 500 AI tokens, 100 MB of cloud storage, and exports only to images and PDF with a watermark. When we checked, the cheapest individual plan was $39 for six months (auto-renewing, discounted), the annual plan $59 and a perpetual license $198. Subscriptions renew automatically and can be cancelled in the Wondershare account.
