Our verdict: Beeper is the most polished way to read and answer chats from many messengers in one window on Windows. On-device connections keep messages off Beeper's servers for most networks. The free plan covers five accounts, and calls still have to happen in the original apps.
About Beeper
Beeper is a universal chat app owned by Automattic, the company behind WordPress.com and Tumblr. It connects more than ten networks, including WhatsApp, Signal, Telegram, Instagram, Messenger, X, Google Messages, Google Chat, LinkedIn and Discord, and shows all chats in one inbox that syncs across your devices.
With On-Device Connections, messages go directly from your device to each network, keeping end-to-end encryption where the network supports it; Beeper says messages never touch its servers. Older accounts may still use Beeper Cloud, which bridges chats on Beeper's servers and stores them with zero-access encryption. Beeper is free for up to five accounts; Beeper Plus costs from $9.99 a month and adds more accounts, scheduled messages, reminders, incognito mode and voice note transcription.
What it does well
- Unified inbox. Chats from WhatsApp, Telegram, Signal, Instagram, Discord, LinkedIn and more in one list.
- On-device connections. Messages travel directly from your device to each network instead of through Beeper's servers.
- Cross-device sync. Read and reply on Windows, Mac, Linux, Android and iPhone with the same account.
- Core chat features. Groups, media, reactions, replies, stickers and disappearing messages, depending on the network.
- Open-source bridges. The integrations that connect each network are open source and can be self-hosted.
Who it is for

People who juggle several messengers and want to answer all of them from one desktop app.

How to install Beeper
The button downloads the latest stable 64-bit Windows installer from beeper.com; Windows on Arm and nightly builds are listed separately. You need to create a Beeper account with your email, then connect each chat network by signing in or scanning a QR code. Save the Recovery Code shown during setup, because Beeper cannot restore encrypted data without it.
