Our verdict: The Amazon Games app is only worth installing if you have Amazon Prime and claim its monthly PC games. It is a simple launcher that lists claimed games and installs them. Many of the monthly games are delivered as Epic or GOG codes instead, so you may need other launchers too.
About Amazon Games
The Amazon Games app is Amazon's Windows game launcher. You sign in with your Amazon account to install and play PC games claimed through Luna, the service that replaced Prime Gaming. Prime members can claim a rotating set of PC games every month at no extra cost; claimed games stay in your library even if the membership ends.
Only some of the monthly games are installed through the Amazon Games app. Amazon's own lists show that many of them are given as codes for the Epic Games Store, GOG or Legacy Games instead. Claiming new games needs an active membership, while reinstalling games you already claimed only needs a basic Amazon account.
What it does well
- Claimed game library. Lists the PC games you claimed with Prime and installs them in one click.
- Keeps claimed games. Games you claimed remain playable after a Prime or Luna membership ends.
- Monthly titles. New games are added each month for Prime members to claim.
- Controller support. Accepts any input device Windows supports, subject to each game.
- Multiple languages. Interface in English, German, Spanish, French, Japanese, Polish and more.

How to install Amazon Games
Sign in with the Amazon account that holds your Prime membership; claimed games appear under Ready to Install in the library. Amazon recommends Windows 11, a multi-core CPU, 8 GB RAM and 20 GB of storage. Games given as Epic, GOG or Legacy Games codes must be redeemed in those launchers instead.
