Our verdict: Cent Browser adds the power-user extras that Chrome lacks: mouse gestures, super drag, many tab options, multi-login tabs and a portable mode. It still supports Windows 7 and Manifest V2 extensions. It is a closed-source project from a small team, and its Chromium base is usually a few versions behind Chrome.
About Cent Browser
Cent Browser is a Windows-only browser from Cent Studio built on Chromium. Its latest release upgraded to Chromium 150 and continues support for Windows 7, Manifest V2 extensions and GDI font rendering, which Google Chrome has dropped.
On top of Chromium it adds mouse gestures, super drag for opening links and searching text by dragging, a scrollable tab bar, many tab-handling options, multi-login tabs for using several accounts on one site, memory optimization, a fully portable mode and keyboard shortcuts such as saving a page as PNG or copying the title and URL of a tab.
What it does well
- Mouse gestures. Draw gestures with the mouse to go back, close tabs or reload.
- Super drag. Drag a link or selected text to open it or search for it in a new tab.
- Tab options. Scrollable tab bar, a tab list menu and many settings for how tabs open and close.
- Multi-login tabs. Open a separate session tab to sign in to a second account on the same site.
- Portable mode. A portable build runs from a USB drive without installation.
