Free PNG to PDF Converter

Put PNG screenshots, diagrams and graphics into a PDF without losing sharpness. Combine several images into one document and choose the page size.

How to convert PNG to PDF

  1. Drop your PNG files onto the box above, or click Choose files. JPG photos can be added to the same PDF.
  2. Arrange the images with the up and down arrows; the order of the list is the order of the pages.
  3. Choose US Letter, A4 or Same as image for the page size, and a margin.
  4. Click Create PDF and download the file.

Why PNG to PDF stays sharp

PNG images are stored without loss, and they go into the PDF the same way: the pixels are compressed losslessly inside the PDF, so text in screenshots, thin lines in diagrams and flat colors stay crisp. That makes this the right route for documentation, slides exported as images, charts and step-by-step screenshots.

Because nothing is thrown away, a PDF made from large PNG screenshots can be big. If it has to be small and the images are photos rather than graphics, convert them with PNG to JPG first and build the PDF from the JPGs.

Transparent PNGs in a PDF

Transparency is kept inside the PDF, so a logo with a transparent background shows the white page behind it, and it stays transparent if someone places the PDF page on a colored background in another program.

Choose Same as image as the page size if each PNG should fill its page exactly, for example when turning a set of slides into a PDF deck.

Supported files and limitations

  • Accepts JPG or PNG files. The format is checked from the file's contents, not only its extension.
  • Up to 100 files at a time, 50 MB each and 200 MB in total.
  • Images up to 50 megapixels and 16,384 pixels on the longest side. A decoded image needs about 4 bytes of memory per pixel, so a 50-megapixel photo takes around 200 MB while it is processed.
  • Files are processed one at a time in a background thread, so the page stays responsive.

Very large PNG files take longer than JPGs, because the browser has to decode every pixel and compress it again for the PDF. The progress bar shows each image as it is added.

Animated PNG files become a page with the first frame. Text inside screenshots is part of the image and cannot be searched or copied in the PDF.

Privacy and security

Your files are opened and processed by your own browser. The ExeDepot server only delivers this page and its scripts; it never receives your files, their contents or their names. The page loads no third-party scripts or ads, and its Content Security Policy allows connections only back to exedepot.com.

Results exist only in your browser's memory until you download them, and they are discarded when you click Start over or close the tab. No online tool can promise perfect security, so keep your browser up to date, and for documents you would never put online consider an offline desktop app such as PDF24 Creator.

Frequently asked questions

Does PNG to PDF reduce image quality?

No. PNG images are stored losslessly in the PDF, so every pixel is kept.

Is transparency kept?

Yes. Transparent areas stay transparent in the PDF and show the page color behind them.

Why is my PDF so large?

Lossless images are big, especially high-resolution screenshots. Convert photo-like images to JPG first if size matters.

Can I put several PNG files into one PDF?

Yes, up to 100 images per PDF. Each one becomes a page in the order of the list.

Do I need to install anything?

No. The tool runs in your browser. If you prefer a desktop app for regular use, PDF24 Creator converts images to PDF offline.
