Our verdict: Opera Air is Opera with fewer distractions and wellbeing tools on top: background soundscapes, short guided breathing and neck exercises, and optional break reminders. It keeps Opera's built-in ad blocker and free browser VPN. If you do not want the soundscapes and breaks, regular Opera or another browser gives you the same browsing for less.
About Opera Air
Opera Air is a minimalist browser from Opera, relaunched in a redesigned version in October 2026. The interface starts clean, with messaging and social media apps addable to the sidebar when wanted. Soundscapes play music and ambient sounds in four categories (Focus, Work, Relax and Ambience), with optional binaural beats that are off by default, plus a timer and repeat.
Breaks offer four guided breathing exercises of 3 to 5 minutes and four neck-exercise routines of 5 to 14 minutes, with a choice of male or female voice guide in English, German, Portuguese or Polish. Break reminders can be set at intervals from 45 to 180 minutes and are off by default. Like Opera, Air includes a built-in ad blocker and a free VPN, and it can import passwords, bookmarks and browsing data from another browser.
