Our verdict: TreeSize Free answers "where did my disk space go?" with a clear, sortable folder tree. It is easy to read and works entirely offline. The free edition is for private, non-commercial use only, and advanced search, reports and server support require a paid edition.
About TreeSize Free
TreeSize is made by JAM Software in Germany and has existed for more than 25 years. The free edition scans local drives, USB sticks and SD cards and lists folders sorted by size, so the largest ones are at the top.
You can drill down to individual files, see charts of folder usage and delete files directly from the interface. All editions run locally, and JAM states that no scan data leaves your PC. A fully customizable file search and scheduled scans with comparison reports are part of the paid TreeSize Professional.
