Our verdict: Stability Matrix is the easiest way to try several local AI image interfaces without fighting Python and Git. It installs each package in one click and lets them all share the same model files, which saves a lot of disk space. It is a manager, so the speed and hardware needs depend on the package and model you run.
About Stability Matrix
Stability Matrix is a desktop package manager for Stable Diffusion tools, made by Lykos AI. It installs and updates web UIs such as ComfyUI, Stable Diffusion WebUI Forge and reForge, Automatic1111, SD.Next, Fooocus, InvokeAI, SwarmUI, plus training tools like Kohya's GUI, OneTrainer and FluxGym. Git and Python are embedded, so nothing has to be installed system-wide.
All packages share one checkpoint folder, and a built-in browser downloads models from CivitAI and Hugging Face with their previews and metadata. The app also has its own Inference interface. The source code is AGPL v3; the prebuilt app is free under a EULA that adds anonymized usage analytics, which you can switch off in Settings. An account is only needed for optional cloud features such as Prompt Amplifier.

How to install Stability Matrix
The button downloads a zip archive, which is the official Windows build. Extract it to a folder you own, such as D:\StabilityMatrix, not Program Files, and run StabilityMatrix.exe. On first start choose portable mode or a data folder on a drive with plenty of space, then pick a package to install. Turn off analytics in Settings if you prefer.
